Ty8.jpeg

For over three decades, Ty Boyland has been a dynamic force in the music industry as a professional songwriter, producer, and mixing engineer. His expertise has shaped countless projects featured on major platforms such as Netflix, MTV, BET, PBS, CBS, FOX, and ABC, with his engineering work earning a regional Emmy nomination in 2024 for "I Hope Like Hell We Get
This Grant."

From 2015 to 2020, Ty was an original fellow with the Memphis Music Initiative, where he served as a teaching artist for Memphis Shelby County Schools. During this time, he delivered high-quality music production and songwriting programming to students across five schools, inspiring a new generation of creators. His passion for youth engagement extended to
collaborations with esteemed organizations like Cloud901, The Neighborhood Christian Center, STAX Music Academy, MPLOY, Angel Street, Kit Kat, The Orpheum, and the Memphis Grizzlies Foundation.

As the founder of Ty Boyland Consulting LLC, Ty empowers schools, businesses, and nonprofits to connect with youth through innovative workforce development and life-skills programs rooted in music. He is also a proud member of The National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences, The Greater Memphis Chamber of Commerce, Forbes BLK, and the Audio Educators Society.

Ty is the author of "How to SEL Music," a groundbreaking book that introduces social-emotional learning through modern music programming. A three-time Grammy Mentor, he has guided aspiring songwriters and producers with one-on-one mentorship, industry insights, and invaluable networking opportunities.

Currently serving as the Coordinator for School-Based Enterprise at Crosstown High, Ty teaches Music Production and Entrepreneurship, equipping students to publish, distribute, and profit from their music. His unique programming, such as “Soul Soil, ” blends music creation with indoor farming, and his collaborative projects like "Coming Back" address critical social issues such as gun violence through impactful artistry.

Ty’s work not only resonates with audiences but also fosters meaningful change in the lives of youth, making him a trailblazer in both the music and education sectors.

At Ty Boyland Consulting LLC, we pride ourselves on providing quality and equitable music programming for non-profits, schools, and businesses.
